FROM EMBER TO INFERNO

Hey everyone. Matt Heafy here, singer and guitarist of the metal band Trivium. This is where you'll find everything you need to know about me in one place. From information on Trivium and the musical gear I use, to what I do when I stream on Twitch - you can find it all here.

Right now, I'm balancing being a full time dad to newborn twins, streaming music and games daily on my twitch channel (which you can read more about below), and being a full time musician touring the world with Trivium.

I'm very grateful to have such an amazing community of fans and friends through both music and streaming over the years, and hope to meet even more of you at a show or in a stream in future. Hope to see you there!

Arigato,

Kiichi

STREAMING ON

I stream twice every weekday doing guitar/vocal practice, Trivium songs, video games, guitar clinics, and “Kiichi Chaos Karaoke”, where subscribers have the option to bid on cover songs they want me to learn and play. While I am on tour, I stream every warm up, sound check, and show - so fans all over the world can join the virtual mosh pit! Bring your good vibes and let’s have some fun!

I joined Trivium in 1999 at the age of 13. Initially I joined as the lead guitarist, but soon became the lead vocalist/ guitarist. By 2002, Trivium recorded our first demo, which led to our debut record - Ember to Inferno - which was released in 2003.

Trivium signed with our current record label, RoadRunner Records in 2004, and since then we have gotten to live out our dreams of travelling the world playing sold out shows and festivals to as many people as possible.

Our most recent release, The Sin and the Sentence (2017) has culminated in sold-out headlining tours, festival main stage performances and a 2019 Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for the song Betrayer.

For the majority of my career, Les Paul guitars have been my choice of instruments. In 2012, Gibson/ Epiphone and I got together to talk about doing a signature guitar. The Epiphone MKH Les Paul Custom signature model was released in February 2013 with the Snofall version being realeased in 2017.

“I wanted to make sure this guitar is great and affordable. Whether it's someone’s first guitar or if they’re a professional guitarist - I wanted this instrument to meet the demands of those levels and everything in between. There is no special, higher model that I play; the model that is available for anyone to buy is the same exact style I use. After many years of using the Epiphone MKH’s on and off tour, in and out of studio - they hold up. It’s a true testament to the quality of the instrument.”
